Slinky were happy to once again attend BVE at the London ExCel Centre this year, it was great to see such a lively atmosphere and range of different stands with a ton of interesting seminars to sink our teeth into.
The usual major brands such as Sony, Canon and Nikon made big appearance at BVE this year. CVP made their presence known with their impressive ice camera sculpture. We also saw so many more familiar brands to Slinky such as; Pond 5, AKM Music, Adobe, GoPro, Manfrotto, Teradek, Arri and Miller making their appearance too this year.
3D technology in recent years has dominated the expo, but this year it took a step back for the arrival of 4K which made a big splash at BVE this year. There was an overwhelming amount of pretty impressive tech this year; we saw the rise-and-rise of drones, 4K Slow Motion Cameras, and VR Headsets.
We simply could not get enough of the seminars – it’s just a shame there weren’t enough hours in the day to see them all but some highlights included the Adobe seminars, Cinematography & Lighting, Post Production, Production and 4K seminars.
Some of the key speakers this year included Richard Ayoade and Catherine Hardwicke sharing their experiences of working in the UK production space with some insight into their careers. The seminars had some interesting subjects such as Women In Media, the most valuable formats in the UK and the 45 Minute Film School.
Overall BVE this year was a blast and we’re very much looking forward to next year, can’t wait to see what new goodies will be in-store for 2016.
