It might be a matter of opinion, but TikTok is undoubtedly a platform that is growing organically at a seismic rate.
In fact, this is all the more impressive when you consider that there huge potential for 100% organic growth available on TikTok. Unlike Facebook or Instagram, TikTok is not “pay to play” platform.
This is nice, because it means TikTok isn’t pushing its huge user base towards promoted posts. And that makes it a far more level playing field for all involved.
It’s also incredibly positive, because organic reach on Facebook is now virtually non-existent and the ability to have your posts grow organically on Instagram continues to drop.
Is this why TikTok is growing so handsomely? Possibly, and if you’ve recently jumped onboard here are a few ways to grow your follower list.
Post often and consistently
Just like any form of content marketing (that’s what TikTok is, after all), the trick to building an engaged audience is to post often and consistently.
You don’t need to post at the same time each day or week, but ensuring you keep up a similar number of posts every week will keep your audience waiting for more.
Get someone else involved: create a duet
If you know someone who is similarly creative and who would like to get involved in TikTok, two creators are normally better than one.
With that in mind, grab your mate or family member and perform a duet with them on TikTok; your audience will love it.
Hashtags work really well on TikTok, just like Instagram. Therefore, it’s sensible to make judicious use of them when you publish new posts.
Also, keep an eye out for new hashtag challenges and get involved (providing they don’t put your or other people’s safety at risk!). Hashtag challenges are one of the quickest ways to get a boost in follower count.
Follow trends and jump on them, fast
Trends on TikTok come and go relatively quickly. It’s therefore important to jump on them as early as you can.
This is why playing the role of observer on TikTok is just as important as being a video creator. When you see a trend you like, jump on and add to it yourself.
Join in on trending dances
This links to our last tip, but deserves its own spot on this list.
Trending dances and trending music take place all of the time on TikTok. It might be the current number one or a certain dance that has somehow made its way around TikTok.
Whatever it is, if there are lots of people doing it and they’re all enjoying plenty of audience interaction, make sure you get involved too and add your own, unique spin to proceedings.
