Happy news came our way today, as Slinky client BDA (British Dietetic Association) announced they had recently won not one, but two prestigious awards at the “Trade Union Communication Awards 2015” ceremony (the TUC equivalent to the Oscars!).
The BDA’s Trade Union training video produced by Slinky, titled “Winston’s Story”, won the Best Video category awards at the event in London, beating other big players in the industry such as Nautilus International and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.
The judges panel commented… “We liked this reps training video for its good story-telling and professional production. We liked the way it demonstrated the clear role of the union in a fictional disciplinary case and thought it would be useful part of a training course.”
Winston’s Story” is short drama centred around the fictional character of Winston Smith, a Dietician who is facing unfair dismissal on the grounds of both his race and sexual orientation – thanks to his bigoted manager ‘Ray Cyst’, played by Coronation Street’s John Burton. The story started life as a paper-only case study at the BDA, but was brought to life by Slinky as an on-screen in-class training film.
BDA also won 2nd place in the “Best Website Category”, with judges praising the sites “modern clean design” and “wide range of content and engagement tools”. You can see it for yourself on the BDA website.
