The Hangman game engine randomly selects a question/clue from a database of hundreds of possibilities, and you have up to 8 incorrect letter guesses in each round before stick-man Harry gets it! Can you save him?? Good luck... and don't forget to share your score with your friends to see if they can beat you!

What type of Potter questions are covered?
The question database covers all films from the Harry Potter series, with questions about characters, actors, spells, places, magical things, creatures, beasts and other areas. There may also be a few clues in there that were featured in the book series only.

How many questions are in the Hangman database?
There are hundreds of questions and answers in the Harry Potter database, so plenty to keep you busy for many hours of procrastination.

Is the game database updated every now and then?
Yes. The world of Potter is vast (as you know). So we will be looking to update the database with more questions down the line.

Do you include answers that contain numbers and other special characters?
Yes. due to the nature of the game in guessing letters, we have converted all numbers to words. For example, 'Platform 9 and 3/4' has been converted to 'Platform Nine and Three Quarters'. We have also stripped all special characters from answers; such as apostrophes, exclamations and question marks.

Do you have any playing tips?
In the English language, the twelve most commonly occurring letters are, in descending order: e-t-a-o-i-n-s-h-r-d-l-u.
Another good strategy for this type of word game is to guess vowels first. English only has five vowels (a, e, i, o and u), and almost every word has at least one.

Is there an app available for iOS or Android?
Our Harry Potter Hangman Game isn't available as a downloadable app at present, and we don't have any plans to release one anytime soon.
The game however does play online fine with most major mobile, tablet and desktop web browsers.
As an alternative; if you're using a browser on a smartphone or tablet (iOS or Android), you can save/add the game to your home screen as a Web App. Look out for the share/send icon in the browser and select 'Add To Home Screen'.

Why Hangman?
We love movie trivia here at Slinky, and think that the classic retro word game of Hangman is rather underserved on the internet - especially amongst Harry Potter fans! So here it is – in all it's non-flashy, simplistic game glory!

Who/what is Slinky?
